Prevención riesgos laborales: concientciación cambio actitud de trabajadores

FIRST RAISE AWARENESS, THEN THE COURSES. ACTUATU, YOUR IDEAL WORKPLACE HEALTH AND SAFETY PARTNER FOR COMPANY WORKPLACE RISK PREVENTION.

Okay, let's see if I understand it. Does raising awareness make accident prevention courses and campaigns work better?

'Yes. And they voluntarily comply with the rules and it improves employee perception of their company and their work.'

'Right, awareness! And you say it exists and you know how to do it...'

'Go ahead, laugh. But I'd also add Awareness, Trust and Cooperation.'

'Ah, and Little Red Riding Hood and the Yeti got married and lived happily ever after.'

'Ha ha. So what's your alternative then? More control? Okay, they don't complain about processes. But what about people? The more money and effort you plough in, the more energy they'll spend to avoid it and as we're good, if we suggest it, they'll get it.'

'Well, that's us.'

'So, the result? Company money goes against them. It's not even an inert cost, but counter-productive.'

'Okay, I'm listening, what do we have to do?'

'Create and stimulate trust and they'll respond with work and commitment. And they'll be happy. Something as obvious as accidents harm people and companies, it just needs to be communicated better. Workplace Risk Prevention is one of the worst-told stories and we have to change it.'

HARM FROM ACCIDENTS IS OBVIOUS, COMMUNICATING WORKPLACE RISK PREVENTION IS NOT.

'I agree, but I don't see how.'

'Because it's the eyes that look, but it's the mind that sees. The glass half-full or half-empty depends on whether it's an optimistic or pessimistic mind.'

'Okay, go on.'

'You shell out for a course without any result. So what's your diagnosis? Is the course no good? Is the teacher no good? Students no good? A bit of everything?'

'That's it, what do you mean?'

'That even the smallest farmer knows that he has to put down fertiliser to get fruit. Fertile minds produce fruitful courses.'

IF YOU BROADEN EMPLOYEES' MINDS AND ATTITUDES, THE COURSES WILL BE BETTER.

'It has a certain logic.'

'Creating more fertile minds involves raising awareness. It's the missing vitamin. Today "prevention" is seen as a negative, useless thing, an obligation, penalties and penalisation. It doesn't encourage or motivate.'

'Yes, but that's how it is.'

'No! Prevention is positive. Effectiveness, method, planning. Production. And therefore, business. It's people and life, but above all it's business.'

'It's the other way round. Prevention slows my work down.'

'A haulier doesn't deliver parcels because of an accident. Does prevention or their business suffer?'

'Uhm. Everything, right?

'Of course, their health and also their business. Put the focus on not having accidents and the parcels arrive on time. And if you look at it the other way, delivering parcels forces you not to have accidents. A virtuous circle, the parts come together and the business grows.'

'Good observation, but there'll always be accidents, things happen. Zero accident does not exist.'

'What does not exist Zero accident ?. Certainly, I am almost agree.'

'What ?, but you did not say? ..., but if you ..'

'Forget the utopias. But you will not deny you look capable of reducing accidents every year, does not it?'

'Yes, you're right'

'Then imagine that we are in nine. If we do something better-eight. Becoming the seventh. And so.'

'This is cheating. You take me back to Zero.'

'I do not. It is the way that we are already and how a path is always step by step.'

'Clear. It is better approach.'

'Exactly. This is the approach. And this does exist ... in your mind.'

'And you say it's because we're talking about prevention again.'

'Yes. Attractively, optimistically and positively. People understand and they react.'

'You've got that twinkle in your eye, you're thinking of something.'

'Read "The Great Silence", a story of self-awareness, now a best-seller. You'll discover another form of prevention.' Read the first chapters online.

'I don't know, I don't know if I trust it.'

'Well, trust these.' Discover what top-flight companies say.

'But...you, who are you?'

'Me? I'm a former miner.' Get to know me better.

'I see, but people don't read that much.'

'Well, that's what you all say, but what you say counts as much as how you say it. It's the same for books, courses and everything. The novel aims to be easy-to-read and attractive. And people read more than you think, and if not, how come you've got this far? Aren't you the best example?'
